The Podcasts I’m Tuning Into On The Reg

Let me tell you, there’s nothing I love more than listening to a podcast and it just so happens to fit into my everyday really, really well. Walking the dog? Podcast. Driving solo? Podcast. Craving some distraction? Yes, you guessed it, podcast.

They’re one of my favourite ways to switch off whilst still feeling inspired and I’m always looking to add to my list of go-to podcasts (hint hint send me your suggestions!) For now though, there’s a collection I listen to without fail and I genuinely miss them when they’re on a break or between seasons. I’ll be sure to keep this list updated as my podcast taste progresses and I discover new can’t miss shows, but in the meantime, here are my current faves…

Podcasts for business…

One Girl Band, Lola Hoad

Lola’s blog is a must-listen for female entrepreneurs and creatives who work for and by themselves. Filled with real, truthful insights into what it’s really like to run a creative business all by yourself, the OGB podcast is not only there to empower you but support and connect you with other ladies in exactly the same boat!

I’ve followed Lola for as long as I can remember and I can’t get enough of her honest discussions about burnout, balance and fresh perspective on running a business. Her podcasts often feel like a coaching session for me and I always feel inspired with new plans for my own business after listening.

Letters from a Hopeful Creative, Jen & Sara

Hosted by Sara Tasker and Jen Carrington, Letters From A Hopeful Creative is a weekly listen where the two ladies answer a letter from a hopeful creative in need of some guidance and encouragement for their own creative journey. As creative coaches, the two share plenty of lessons they’ve learnt along the way so each episode is full of practical advice you can learn from.

The great thing about this podcast is Sara and Jen happily share so much of their insight and experience in an honest and relatable way. They cover all aspects of running a creative business and the advice is relevant for business owners at all different stages so you can always take something away to benefit your biz!

Goal Digger Podcast, Jenna Kutcher

Firstly, if you don’t straight away start humming Kanye West’s Gold Digger upon reading the name of this podcast then do you even listen to music?! On a serious note though, this live-workshop style business podcast, by the forever inspiring self-made millionaire Jenna Kutcher is a must-listen.

Twice a week I tune in and listen to Minnesota-based Jenna, an incredibly inspiring entrepreneur who never fails to leave me feeling inspired and ready to take action when it comes to my business. Packed with expertise, she covers so many topics from standing up for yourself, to sharing her worst client stories - there really is something for everyone to relate to.

Podcasts for switching off...

Couples Therapy, Candice & Casey Neistat

You may already know Casey Neistat from his popular YouTube series and Candice for her New York baed jewellery & lifestyle brands. In this podcast series, both Casey and Candice candidly discuss the ups and downs of married life; expect everything from parenting and friendship, to living life under the YouTube spotlight.

This really is a different kind of podcast and sheds a light on the ‘perfect aesthetic’ we so often see on social media. It reminds me that not every relationship is perfect and the couple always manages to make me laugh and/or feel like less of an awful girlfriend/friend. It’s a fascinating listen behind the scenes of a very successful couples home life and definitely one you’ll end up addicted to!

Berkhamsted Revisited: A Teenage Diary Podcast

Ah, Berkhamstead Revisited. This podcast sees Laura Kirk and her friend (also called Laura) read back over the diaries Laura kept in her teenage years. The now twenty-somethings read back the pages and make sense of any key issues she experienced back in those all-important adolescent years.

So, why Berkhamstead Revisited? Firstly, it’s totally non-business related so it’s the ultimate switch off! It gives me all the nostalgic feels too as a fellow twenty-something and keeps me entertained on any long drives I go on. I also love to get involved with the conversations that follow each episode over on their Twitter and Instagram accounts so make sure you check these out too.

Podcasts for inspiration...

At Home With, Anna Newton & Lily Pebbles

‘At Home With…’ is a podcast series by online content creators Lily Pebbles and Anna Newton. Each episode sees the duo interview a guest in the comfort of their own home as they delve into the lives of these cool women doing cool stuff– previous guests include everyone from beauty royalty Liz Earle to best-selling author Giovanna Fletcher.

The reason I LOVE this podcast is it really does feel like your sitting down listening to your friends. Lily and Anna have totally nailed that casual, relatable vibe that makes ‘At Home With…’ both a comforting and entertaining listen all in one.The pair both have incredibly amazing Instagram accounts too for all the interior, beauty, style inspo you may need!

The Fringe of it, Charlotte Jacklin & Liv Purvis

This weekly podcast by Liv Purvis of What Olivia Did and Charlotte Jacklin of Betty Magazine is the radio show the two wish they had and sees the pair navigate their way through millennial life with a lot of laughs in between.

The Fringe Of It is the perfect balance of chatty catch-ups discussing everything from what they’re currently watching and buying, to covering real topics that many women and small business owners face in today’s world. Again, this has a similar feel to ‘At Home With…’ as you feel like you’re listening to your friends and laughing along with them – feel-good podcast listening at it’s very best!

So there you have it, the podcasts I’m listening to on the regular! As I mentioned, I’d love to discover new listens so please do comment and let me know your faves!
