The Calm Within The Storm

Well, it's been a while! 6 weeks to be precise. Many of you will know that whilst the insta story thing was going on, I pressed pause on these weekly emails. I did that for two reasons, because a) two emails a week is a bit much and b) I had fallen out of love with sending TheWeekly and hoped that a break would help me find my flow.

I'm pleased to report that the insta story thing was more impactful than I could've ever hoped and that time away from TheWeekly gave me just the clarity I needed. So say hello to the Midweeka bi-weekly digest, documenting the reality of my business through an honest account of the highs & lows.

It's safe to say that a lot has changed / happened since TheWeekly emails stopped 6 weeks back, so for this email, let me tell you a bit of what's been going on. And not the highlights reel you'll have seen on Instagram but my real, un-edited experience of it.

THE CALM WITHIN THE STORM

Where to start?! I'm writing this from Dubai, a week long trip which can only be described as a much needed calm within a metaphorical and self-chosen storm. You see, the last few weeks in my business have been a little full on.

I'm currently working on the most exciting (and equally terrifying / risk-filled) project I've ever dreamt up which is taking up a whole lot of my time (and money... RIP to my savings account). Anyone's who's launched anything new will know just how consuming it gets and whilst I'm so so grateful to be playing big and making things happen, a week of calm is incredibly needed.

I flew in on Sunday and I'm only just managing to step away from the 'doing' and feeling like it's OK to stop. In a world / industry that celebrates the 'hustle', giving ourselves permission to rest is just as important as putting in the hours or ticking off to-do lists. I talked about feeling guilty for going on / sharing this trip in a recent post on my Instagram & I'd love for you to share your thoughts / experience of it over there.

Any tips on switching off are greatly received. As a total perfectionist who is fortunate enough to adore their job, taking time away from the 'grind' (I hate that phrase) doesn't always come naturally. I'm all too aware that in just 5 days time I'll be back at my desk in rainy old England, so here's to making the most of this space.

So, that's it for the first Midweek email. I'm off to have a midday nap (because who knew doing nothing was so tiring?!) and attempt not to think about the 748 other things I could / should be doing right now.

Sending you all the encouragement / comfort / energy you need this week!

PS - the V exciting project launches on Dec 10th and I cannot wait to share it with you all. Please be kind. I'm terrified.
